Guests That Don’t RSVP

RSVP comes from the French phrase “repondez, s’il vous plait” which means “please reply.” If you can wrap your head around the idea early on that guests will not “respondez” it will save you one or two migraines at least. And if you’ve never had a migraine, checking your email morning, noon, and before and after Project Runway, and stalking your letter carrier for RSVPs will be your ticket to this eye-popping, mind-numbing, don’t-they-know-I’m-paying-fifty-dollars-a-plate experience. Even the promise of Grilled Veal Chops with Potatoes Dauphinoise and all the Tequila Shots this side of Cuernavaca, there is no guarantee that your Uncle Steve will comb his hair and put on a clean tie. It is what it is and if 80% or more of your guests are considerate enough to respond with a “oui” or a “non”, consider yourself well blessed.

Brownie Pop Wedding Favors

Everyone loves moist and delicious brownies.  Why not serve them on a stick?  Prepare your favorite fudge brownie mix as usual.  Using a small spoon, scoop up some of the brownie (baked and cooled) from the center portion. Roll it into a ball, insert a lollipop stick and pop into the freezer for about one hour.  Dip the cake or brownie pops in melted white, milk or dark chocolates (Dove Silky Smooth Dark Chocolate if you must!) and insert the sticks into a flat Styrofoam block to dry.

Thank You Messages For Your Wedding Program

I don't care if you're 9 or 99, everyone delights in hearing the words "thank you." And what better time to do it? Is there any other day in your WHOLE life where a large group of generous people, including friends of friends of your parents' friends will be stuffing a bunch of twenties and hopefully fifties, into a little white lace box just for you? Borrow my thank you ideas and use them generously!

May God bless each and every one of you for sharing this joyful day with us. Your prayers and support have made this a celebration of love that we will cherish forever.

Being a witness to the first day of our lives together, you have all filled our hearts with joy and gratitude. We are honored that many of you have traveled a great distance to be with us today and thank you for your many blessings.

Today we express our love and devotion in the presence of God, our parents, our brothers and sisters, family and friends. Each anniversary of our marriage, we will celebrate the memory of this day, becoming husband and wife among those we love so dearly.

Bless you for honoring us on our wedding day. May God enrich your lives, and provide those who have traveled far, a safe and happy journey home.

Thank you for many happy memories made today, that was so full of joy because of you. Our gratitude is boundless.
