Easy Bridal Shower Sugar Cookies

Bridal shower sugar cookies made so easy with a simple recipe from the back of a Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix. The challenging part will be overcoming your fear of royal icing, which you'll be happy to discover takes only three ingredients and is ready in just 7 minutes. These heart shaped cookies look professionally made but the decorating is well within your expertise. Only two Wilton cake decorating tips were used to make these adorable designs. A small leaf tip and a round tip (for the dots and swirls), that you can also use to write names and initials. Serve on your favorite vintage plates and platters.


  • Heat oven to 375 degrees (or 350 for dark or non-stick pan).
  • Make cookie mix as directed - except decrease softened butter to 1/3 cup and stir in 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour with the cookie mix.
  • Roll dough on floured surface until about 1/4 inch thick. Cut with heart shaped cookie cutter. 
  • Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake as directed above.
  • Cool 1 minute before removing from cookie sheet.
  • Decorate with royal icing in colors to match your wedding theme.
