Easy Homemade Limoncello
1 liter of vodka
3 cups of white sugar
4 cups of water
- Zest the lemons (the most time-consuming part - but the zest quickly adds up). Place the zest into a large glass jar. Add the vodka and cover loosely. Leave at room temperature.
- About one week later, combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil - without stirring. Boil the sugar and water for 15 minutes. Allow syrup to cool.
- Stir vodka mixture into the cooled syrup. Strain into small glass bottles, seal and let them age for about 2 weeks.
