Pumpkin Dessert Ideas

A favorite pumpkin dessert of mine - is double layer pumpkin cheesecake, which is the only one I strongly recommend making with homemade pumpkin puree. To make the puree, purchase a three pound pie pumpkin, slice off the top, cut in half and scoop out all of the seeds with a melon baller. Place the two pumpkin halves on a baking sheet - cut sides down. Bake in a 375 degree oven for about 45 minutes. The pumpkin flesh should pull easily away from the skin. Puree in your food processor for about thirty seconds and you're done! Ideal for a fall or winter bridal shower when want your food to look divine as well as delicious. Grace your good friends with these other healthy pumpkin desserts, full of the fragrances we love this time of year - freshly ground cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and those exotic Indonesian flower buds known simply as cloves. No heavy lifting here - all of these desserts were made with canned pumpkin - 80 calories per cup, vitamins A, C and E, and seven grams of fiber.
