A Mason jar candle centerpiece - perfect for a winter wedding or Christmas display. At first glance I thought I could make one of these charming holiday candle holders in less time than it takes to brew my morning coffee. And call back into service that unused plaid tablecloth, waiting for my next trip to the Goodwill. Now I see the fabric looks like fleece and has a beautiful finished edge on top and bottom. So the whole project will take more effort (require a sewing machine!) but this unforgettable Mason jar centerpiece will cast a warm and welcoming glow over family, neighbors and well-loved friends.

What makes this unity ceremony idea (from Disney weddings) so fun and easy? The large jar and two smaller glass jars look suspiciously like containers that hold my favorite brand of mayonnaise! What was once headed right for the blue recycle bin - now wrapped up in twine with customized cardboard hearts - makes an attractive sand ceremony set. You will find a variety of glass ceremony sets on Amazon from about $19.95 and up (shipping not included) and a Mason Jar set just like this - wrapped in burlap instead of twine - for $12 on Etsy. I cherish the idea that even on the most important day of our lives we can recycle and reuse, celebrating our love and this beautiful blue planet we all call home.

It may seem too early to talk about tulip wedding bouquets when the first winter cold front, like a runaway train, could be headed our way in a matter of weeks. What better time to plan a spring wedding than after the Pecan Streusel Pumpkin Pie and before the Christmas holiday rush? Tulips are a perennial flower, when planted in the fall, will return year after year. Yes...you can actually grow your own tulips for centerpieces, bridal and bridesmaid bouquets! Plant the bulbs at least eight inches deep - pointed sides up. (In southern climates, you need to chill the tulip bulbs in the refrigerator before planting for at least 12 weeks.) Avoid overwatering and you'll find yourself with an abundance of these breathtakingly beautiful spring flowers.

The American Film Institute lists him as the third most bad ass movie villain of all time. Second only to Hannibal Lector and Norman Bates ("Psycho"). Medical students are even told to observe the Supreme Commander of the Imperial Fleet because he exhibits six out of the nine traits for borderline personality (think Amy Winehouse, Lindsay Lohan and yes...Angelina Jolie). No matter, he's a tall sexy guy in a black armored suit. At just $15, this is the perfect gift for the groom who will always part with his hard earned cash (films, novels, comics, video games, action figures) for Star Wars. Printed on vintage dictionary paper, this Audrey Hepburn and Darth Vader print measures 7.5 x 10 inches. A fashion icon who spent her life helping impoverished children all over the world. An evil guy who sacrificed his own life to save his son. A well-loved Star Wars wedding gift for the groom.

These easy Christmas ornament centerpieces remind me that the holidays are meant to be a joy, not a job. You can't rush the baking or the wrapping or the cards. But you can create an exquisite winter centerpiece in just minutes with things you may already have on hand. I love the upside down wine glasses, their naturally concaved bases keep the dripping candle wax in check. Most of these were made using two complimentary winter colors: purple and silver, green and red, white and silver, royal blue and silver, and turquoise and silver. Don't leave the store without silver Christmas ornaments! Another great money saving wedding idea - purchase almost everything, including the glass stemware your at local dollar store.

I love to support a small Etsy business that takes pleasure in creating safe and sustainable products for an eco-friendly wedding. Eliminate the need for place card holders, an unnecessary wedding expense, and one more plastic item that will linger in your local landfill. (These ship out of Australia so allow yourself plenty of time to receive your order.) Make your place settings much more elegant and inviting with these mini heart place cards that sell for just $1.25 each.

I only wish this stylish pair of groom's wedding date cufflinks were available that warm December day I married Phil in San Pedro, California. As it was, I stared at his yellow gold wedding band with interlocking circles from the time I placed it on his ring finger until we drove back from our three day honeymoon in Santa Barbara by the sea. How can a ring or a pair of silver plated cufflinks command such power over your heart and your head? This $40 price tag seems very affordable for the man who first became your best friend, then your lover, and now the man you can't live a day without.

A well loved bridesmaid gift idea - a jar of whipped body butter with very pure and natural ingredients including shea butter (from the nut of the African shea tree), organic avocado and coconut oils. Because your girls need to look good! Rich with anti-oxidants and Vitamin E, these vegetable oils moisturize the skin, keeping it healthy and hydrated. This Pink Sugar Body Butter comes in a 4 ounce bottle and has a lovely, light cotton candy fragrance. At less than $10, everyone in the bride tribe will love this all natural whipped body butter that will leave their dry skin smooth and silky, especially this time of year.
